The Chambers held a Webinar on Climate Change Sustainable Development and Environmental Law of Bangladesh on January 23, 2021, Saturday at 3:30 PM. At Zoom Virtual, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Md. Ashraful Kamal, Hon’ble Justice, High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Chief Guest and Keynote Presenter in the event and delivered Speech on “Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Environmental Law of Bangladesh”, Ms. Mariam Ispahani, Founder & CEO, Sonali Bioplastics, Special guest and Speaker and Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque, Managing Director, Plummy Fashions Ltd. Special guest, and Speaker, delivered their Speech on the said topic. The Hon’ble justice Mr. Kamal stressed the need for protecting the river from Hazardous waste and also highlighted the need for reduction of carbon emission, land and water management. On the other hand, Ms. Ispahani stressed the need for recycle of solid waste like plastics and use of environment friendly bioplastic as micro-plastic are piling up in the Bay of Bengal at a n alarming rate and adding toxic item in our food menu. Mr. Hoque stressed the need for green manufacturing and monitoring carbon food printing in all garments production. He urged that buyer should take into account these factors while setting the pricing of garments product.
